This Brewery located at Elm and Logan Streets opened after prohibition as the Crescent Brewing Co. from 1934-35, then as the Pride of Missouri Brewing Co.(1935-37) when McGovern Brewery Co. moved from Old Appleton, MO in 1938. Bennie McGovern (owner and former prize fighter) hired Sebastian Hauner and his son, Andrew, brew-masters, from Stecher Brewery in Murphysboro, IL in 1937 to open his relocated brewery in Marionville,MO. The Brewery closed in 1940.
