appleton brewery was owned by my dads uncle ignasius meyer.there are pictures of the brewery his one room house was across the alley also marked cellar A & the building next door was marked cellar B. after selling to benny mcgovern proabishion began. my moms dad hugo wucher owned the travern so to earn money grandpa,two sons & one son in law drove bootleg for mcgovern. they made deliverys to al capon. when my uncle wanted out mcgovern had him beatin to death. meyer repurchased the brewery. one night it caught fire & burnt down. that night my dads cousin leo meyer was borned about 20 ft. away from the fire in that one room house.
